Life Source Hawai'i

Life Source Hawai׳i© is a sustainable agricultural learning program working in collaboration with cooperative farms on the Big Island of Hawai׳i. Through our program, we educate at-risk children to once again make the Islands of Hawai׳i self-sustainable, thereby, empowering each child and promoting mental, physical and environmental health throughout our community.

Sunday's Child Foundation is building an agricultural learning center for children in Hawai'i, featuring and promoting the highest sustainable technologies. These kids will be involved in creating and implementing an innovative sustainable ag model. As these children gain an education in farming, nutrition and commerce, they will also be involved in developing and implementing renewable energy for the island. The Life Source Hawai'i Keiki Learning Center benefits us all and empowers children’s education and advancement
to create a healthy and sustainable world.

Our purpose for our island keiki is to help them preserve their heritage by preserving the Aina (land), realize their true strengths, and encourage core family values, so that each child will focus on their Ala (path) to perpetuate an island community where their very powerful and solid legacy will remain and be carried forward. We are focused on education in nutrition, as Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders are two to three times more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes, according to The University of Hawai'i at Manoa study through
the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR). Additionally, Hawaiians have the highest mortality rates for diabetes as the underlying cause of death in the nation.  We are working to build  strong and healthy people and communities here in Hawai׳i.
We are making real change in the lives of these children.
